Client Onboarding From Your Firm’s Website: How It Works

Most SEBI Research Analysts either have no public website, or have one that ends at a phone number and an email address. A prospect who wants to become a client still has to reach out, wait, and go through onboarding by hand. Firm tier changes that: Aktai builds and hosts a website for your firm, and a single button on it runs the full client onboarding flow, PAN to eSign, without you touching a form.

The gap between a website visit and a client

A prospect finds your firm, likes what they read, and wants in. On most RA websites, the next step is an email address or a phone number. The prospect writes, waits for a reply, gets a form or a link by email, fills it in, and only then does the actual KYC start: PAN check, KRA lookup, agreement, eSign, risk profiling. Every one of those handoffs is a place someone drops off.

Meanwhile the analyst is doing the same thing from the other end: copying a name and PAN into the portal by hand, sending an agreement, and chasing a signature. None of it is difficult, but all of it is friction that a solo or small firm cannot afford to carry client by client.

What Firm tier adds

Two things, shipped together. First, a website for your firm: your services, your team, and your SEBI-mandated RA disclosures, designed and hosted by Aktai on your own domain, live in days. Second, a "Become a client" button on that site wired into the same onboarding flow already used inside the Aktai portal. A visitor clicks it, and by the time they finish, they are a fully onboarded client, no analyst involved until it is time to talk research.

1

A visitor lands on your website

Whether it is a site Aktai built for you or your existing site with the embed added, a "Become a client" button sits on the page, under your firm name and branding.

2

PAN verification and KRA check

The visitor enters their PAN. Aktai verifies it and checks their KYC Registration Agency (KRA) status, the same lookup used for onboarding started inside the portal.

3

Aadhaar eSign of the agreement

The prospect eSigns your client agreement and the Most Important Terms and Conditions (MITC) using Aadhaar-based eSign, no printout, no scan, no email attachment.

4

SEBI suitability and risk profiling

A risk-profiling questionnaire runs the client through the SEBI-mandated suitability assessment. The result is stored as an immutable record tied to that assessment date.

5

A completed client, already in your list

When every step clears, the record lands in your client list with the same status trail as a client added by hand: started, PAN verified, KRA checked, eSign sent, completed. Nobody re-types anything.

Already have a website?

You do not need to throw it away. Aktai hands you an embed snippet for the onboarding button instead of building a new site, so it drops into your existing homepage or contact page. The button runs the identical PAN, KRA, eSign and risk-profiling flow either way. The choice between a new Aktai-built site and an embed on your current one is yours.

Manual onboarding versus onboarding from your website

The individual KYC steps do not change. What changes is who starts them, and when.

Where this fits on Firm tier

Client onboarding itself, PAN through eSign through risk profiling, is on every Aktai plan already. What Firm adds is a second door into that same flow: your public website, staffed by nobody, open around the clock. It sits alongside the other Firm-tier features built for a multi-analyst practice: unlimited clients, up to 5 team members, and maker-checker approval on outgoing notes.

FAQ

Do I need to already have a website to use this?

No. If you do not have a website, Aktai designs, builds and hosts one for your firm on Firm tier: your services, your team, and your SEBI-mandated RA disclosures, live on your own domain. The onboarding button ships as part of that site.

What if I already have a website?

Aktai gives you an embed snippet for the onboarding button instead of rebuilding your site. Drop it into an existing page and it runs the same PAN, KRA, eSign and risk-profiling flow used inside the Aktai portal.

Does onboarding from the website skip any of the usual KYC steps?

No. A prospect who starts from your website goes through the exact same steps as a client an analyst adds by hand inside the portal: PAN verification, a KRA (KYC Registration Agency) status check, Aadhaar eSign of the client agreement and Most Important Terms and Conditions, and the SEBI suitability and risk-profiling questionnaire. The only thing that changes is who starts it.

Which plan includes this?

The firm website and the onboarding button embedded on it are Firm-tier features, alongside multi-analyst seats and maker-checker note approvals. Client onboarding itself, PAN through eSign, is on every plan; what Firm adds is the ability to start that flow from your own public website instead of inside the portal.

How is this different from just adding a contact form to my website?

A contact form captures a name and a message, then the analyst still does the onboarding by hand: PAN check, KRA lookup, sending the agreement, chasing the eSign. The Firm-tier button runs the whole flow itself. A completed onboarding lands directly in your client list; nobody re-keys anything.
